With gold prices continuing to skyrocket, there is a modern-day version of a “gold rush” taking place in the United States. As a result of the high interest in gold, the Bad Boys Mining Company in Cripple Creek, CO – on a 31.57 acre parcel of land originally established for gold mining in 1890 – is now for sale for $12 million. The company holds 10 gold mining patents along with independent lab reports that support current gold findings on the property (which is located a short distance from the largest gold producer in Colorado, The Cripple Creek and Victor Gold Mine), making the property a promising venture for the right “prospector”. The property is being listed by Colorado Real Estate professional Ann Baumgartner of Sotheby’s International Realty.

“We believe there’s significant mineral value yet to be found on the property, and the owners realized that it will take a much larger operation to go after it,” said Ann Baumgartner of Sotheby’s International Realty, who is listing the property. They purchased this property in 1989 and ran a successful Turquoise mine.  Recently, they have discovered significant gold finds on two areas of the property and felt it was the right time to make it available to the mining industry. There’s a lot of successful gold mining history throughout this area, and this could prove to be a very valuable mining venture. We’re looking forward to discussing the options that are available here to all interested parties.”

The recent gold finds on the property included Free Gold and Telluride Gold. Current assays measure 38.5 ounce gold per ton and .44 ounce silver per ton. In addition to the 31.57 acres of patented mineral claims, the property includes an open pit gold and turquoise mine, a deep shaft gold mine and a 2,394 square foot log home with sprawling views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range.

The Cripple Creek Mining District is the source of nearly all the mineral wealth in the county and is the leading gold producer of Colorado, and the second most productive gold-mining district in the U.S.
